May Star- Little Family Time

Finally, I had a free time to relax for a while and write a post for my blog. I have a lot of assignments and I have to start studying for my mid-term exam. This post is going to be a little bit personal :)

So, a couple of weeks ago, me and my family went to May Star to celebrate both my brother (23) and sister (18) birthday! Since my brother have been very busy with his business and me with school stuffs, we didn't have much time to meet and talk. So, I was really happy when we finally have some quality time as a family!
We ordered a lot of dimsum served with a cup of hot chinese tea.

I didn't have a chance to take a lot of pictures because my sister and brother was like "Please stop taking pictures and eat!" Yeah, I had been a little bit obsessed with taking pictures since my brother gave me this camera. Anyway, happy birthday to my beloved brother and sister :D

This is my brother's favorite dessert ever since he was a little boy, We called it " kue susu (milk cake) " It has a crunchy texture of pastry combined with very delicate cake texture.

I didn't like this one but my mom and my sister are crazy about this. This called "ceker ayam/ chicken claw"

I forgot what they called for this one but this is pork served with a sauce.

This is my sister's dessert, we called it BakPao. The purple liquid is known as talas in Indonesia.

Finally my favorite dish of the day, Xiao Long Bao / Soup dumplings!

Best tea ever

I was trying to learn taking pictures. I actually only use a digital camera.

I was very sad when my family time is over, but I had to go back with my responsibilities as both a daughter and a student :)

How to make your goals in college : My Goals board

I've shown you how to brainstorm your goals on the last post, today we are going to see how to establish our goals board! I usually print out my goals board and stick it on my desk wall, only by this way I will always remember my dreams every single day and keep motivated. Basically, I have 3 goals board, each describe one out of 3 categories ( I've explained about these categories on the last post ).  Take a look at my goals board :

The other thing that I put on my goals board is the details of when I am going to achieve each goal. I also write down things that I'm willing to do in order to achieve my goals. Here are the examples for you:

So, do you also have a goal board? Share with me! <3

How to make your goals in college : part 1

I've mentioned on the last post about the importance of a goal for college student . Today I am going to show you how I make my goals in college! :)

3 kinds of goals in college

We have to make goals for every aspect of our college life and there are 3 kinds of goals that I usually make in college :

College means studying. This goal includes everything about achievement in college such as your GPA, your activities, and your scores. I usually also write about things or skills that I would like to improve this semester.

Being health is important for everyone including us. For example, this semester I make a goal to be able to sleep at least 6 hours every night and stop eating after 9pm.

Career and finance
Some college students want to have a job or an internship while they are still in college to gain experience as well as to save their money better. So, I usually make a goal about my work and personal finance (since they are always related) including what company I am going to apply for new internship and how much money I want to be able to save this semester.

The first step is to brainstorm and find out what you really want for your life. Grab a piece of paper and write down your goals for each aspect ( education, health, and career). As you write down everything, remember to include:

1. The benefits : write the benefits if you able to achieve your goals. For example, if your goal is to get GPA of 4.00, your benefit may be get a high-paid job or scholarship for graduate school. This is important to give your motivation as you go through the path to achieve your goals.

2. Plan : think about what you have and willing to do to achieve your goals. A goal needs a plan to be achieved. If you want to be healthier, you may willing to running every morning for 30 minutes.

3. Due date : Write down when exactly you want to achieve each goal that you've written down.

This is my brainstorming goals layout for you :)

This is the example of how I brainstorm and think about my goals in college. I usually make new goals at the beginning of new semester.

Happy weekend guys! :)

The importance of a goal for college student

( As I promised, I will write more posts during weekend since my weekdays is dominated by school assignments! )

Some people know what they want for their life, while the rest is still trying to figure it out. As I mentioned before that one of the things that I wish I knew as a freshman is to know the importance of a goal and how to make one. Before we get to the second point, we have to take a moment to realize how a goal, even a simple one, can change the way we live our life ( Yes, this is not something that only applicable in college )

A goal or an aspiration will direct you to be able to make right decisions and choices in your college life. A person who always find difficulty in decision-making is usually caused by living without aspiration. Think about it. If you know that you want to get GPA of 4.00 this semester in college you will be able to make your priority. Perhaps, your first priority is to study every night for 2 hours and work on assignments earlier. So, when your friends ask you to go out, you will be able to say "no" without second thought because you know what you really want. Of course, you still have to go out with friends sometimes, but you will be surely know when to say "no".

enhance your potential

Ambition, is what you will have once you determine your goals in college. Then, this ambition leads you to push yourself and enhance your true potential in a way that you never imagined. It will bring out everything you got in yourself and you are going to see how capable you are. Sky is the limit. If you are determined to get 4.00 GPA no matter what happen, you will do everything you can to be there and you will see the other side of yourself that you never knew, trust me :)

change your life

This comes from my personal experience. Let me tell you a little story about my college life. I wasn't  born as a smart student like my brother was, I got 0.07 for my math exam when I was in junior school. I sad and thought I was stupid.. But I realized I wasn't and I never! I only didn't study for my math exam and it was because I didn't know what I want from my school life at that time, no one guided me. Now in college, I am known as one of those students with high GPA and it's all simply because I know exactly and clearly what I want :)

So, if you are waiting for a change in your life, make one by setting your goal and purpose :)
